# Why was I charged an incorrect amount?

We know how unpleasant paying more than you had intended can be. Your invoice doesn't match the estimated cost of the service? This may happen if:

• the service provider had to incur additional costs to complete the task;

• the duration of the task was longer than estimated.

When you make a booking, the indicated amount is an estimate and not the final price of your service. That's because the final cost is calculated according to the actual time the service provider spends working on the task.

To avoid any misunderstandings, we recommend always discussing your task details, such as possible extra expenses or estimated task duration, with your service provider by using the communication tools provided on the Discontract platform.

If you have any further questions about payment conditions, service rates or quality, you can always reach us through our customer support department – send us a query at <info@discontract.com>, or simply call or message us directly through the Discontract platform. We're always happy to help!

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.discontract.com/en/for-clients/payment-information/why-was-i-charged-an-incorrect-amount.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
